Welcome
In virtually every major city in this country, there are programs for those who suffer from addictions. There are hospital-based detox centers, independent treatment facilities, psychiatric and psychological professionals, sober living homes or dormitories, twelve step meetings-even alternative approaches, such as Eastern medicine practitioners, meditation centers and yoga studios.
The vast majority of these programs are designed for the "average" man or woman who is struggling with alcohol or drug dependence. There are very few programs that are designed to meet the needs of the busy professional. Executives aren't, by definition, "average." The stresses they deal with, the responsibilities they shoulder, and the expectations others demand of them make it difficult-if not impossible-for them to get the understanding and support they need from the "average" treatment program.
That's why Coastal Recovery has developed its Executive Treatment program.
We've turned the idea of "one size fits all" treatment on its head, and developed a new approach that will revolutionize the way addiction recovery services are offered. We understand the needs of executives and professionals, having successfully treated leading figures in virtually every industry. We used their feedback as the template for redesigning our method of providing executive treatment.
In the past, everyone who entered a treatment center was handled like a recruit in boot camp. Patients were expected to "toe the line," entitled to little in the way of amenities. This model of treatment hasn't changed much in decades. For the "average" person, this model was fine: people were able to recover from their addictions, and they returned to their "average" lives after their "tour of duty" was over.
This model wasn't fine when it came to helping executives and professionals:
- The isolation of most programs made it difficult for them to maintain contact with their office or staff
- The potential for scandal or embarrassment was present if another "average" patient disclosed information about an executive in the program
- The facilities were inferior to the standards of people who live their day-to-day lives on a higher scale
It may seem that what matters most is that the individual with the addiction problem get well, regardless of the surroundings-and we'd agree. Still, we've discovered that patients who find themselves in comfortable surroundings, dealing with like-minded people, and being respected for their accomplishments in life are more favorably inclined to deal with the core challenge of recovery.
This specific objective is what Executive Treatment at Coastal Recovery was designed to achieve.
